Numerical Simulation of the Lower and Middle Reaches of the Yarkant River (China) Using MIKE SHE

As the largest irrigation area in northwest China, middle and lower reaches of Yarkant River basin are limited economic development by shortage surface water resources increasing demand for groundwater from agriculture industry, phenomenon over-exploitation is becoming increasingly serious, which not line with concept sustainable development. Therefore, improving efficiency resource utilization while curbing trend declining levels an important issue that needs to be addressed at present, specifically, establishing a distributed hydrological model MIKE SHE based on soil texture dataset. The coefficient Ens, balance (WB), correlation r, relative error Re were selected evaluate model’s applicability. results were: Ens = 0.84, WB 0.80, r 0.96 annual scale runoff simulation 0.85, RE 0.61, monthly simulation. errors between simulated observed values typical observation wells 3.45%, 1.59%, 2.52%, 0.35%. According analysis parameters sensitivity table sensitivity, saturated hydraulic conductivity had greatest effect peak discharge. show has some applicability basin.
